Bangkok--11 Mar--Hard Rock Pattaya
Hard Rock Pattaya and Chord Tabs rocked the Hard Rock Cafe Pattaya’s stage with the 2nd Hard Rock Pattaya Guitar Battle 2015 on Saturday 7 February 2015.
With over 100 guitarists originally applying via Hard Rock Hotel Pattaya’ s Facebook page the applicants were whittled down to 16, through specific performance criteria and careful selection.
The competition started with their own selected track and a track from Pop Woravit – Rock on the Beach. Then the best were paired up to battle each other through renditions of Still Got the Blues by Gary Moore. Next, the best 4 were paired up to play Cocaine by Eric Clapton. Finally, the top 2 battled it out with Voodoo Child by Jimi Hendrix.
The invited judges are some of the best guitarists in Thailand including, Khun Olarn Promjai from the Olarn Project, Khun Pop Woravit Charoenponnapachai and Khun Thanat Meatanayanon, the winner of Overdrive Contest 2007.
The winner was of Guitar Battle 2015 was Khun Yodchai Sirichokchai, he received a Fender American Standard Stratocaster and Line 6 Relay G90 wireless guitar system. And the 1st runner was, Khun Piyawat Chumjairak who got one night stay in a deluxe room at Hard Rock Hotel Pattaya plus a trophy.
Later in the evening, the judges also rocked the stage with a special performance and featuring the winner of Guitar Battle 2013, Khun Jakkrapan Janchoungchote. Then the show continues with a performance from Khun Yodchai, the winner of Guitar Battle 2015.
Hard Rock is where the music begins, let’s rock on to the next Guitar Battle 2016!
