In March, The Living Room welcomes American Jazz Ambassador, the outstanding Deborah Davis. Accompanied by the renowned The Randy Cannon Group, the gifted jazz singer and consummate performer will enchant the audience at the intimate lounge from March 13 – 28, 2015.
Born in Dallas, Texas, Deborah's distinct style and extraordinary singing ability has earned her invitations to perform with jazz greats including Ray Brown, Lionel Hamilton and Clark Terry, and she has jammed with the legendary Freddie Hubbard and Art Blakey. Equally at ease with rock and R&B legends, Deborah has also shared the stage with artists as diverse as Santana, Eric Clapton, Diana Ross, Alicia Keys, Jamie Cullum, and many more.
Deborah’s stage presence has lit up renowned jazz clubs from The Blue Note to Birdland, and she has sung for dignitaries including Bill Clinton. In 2004, Deborah and her band were chosen by the U.S. State Department and the Kennedy Center in Washington DC to represent America as Jazz Ambassadors, traveling to Latin America to foster goodwill and inspire people through the love of music.
New York’s Newsday magazine described Deborah as “a self-assured singer from Texas with style, solid chops in all ranges, a sparkling well-articulated attack, and a natural flowing charm."
At The Living Room, Deborah’s vocal artistry will be complemented by Randy Cannon, a remarkable pianist renowned for his spontaneous improvisation and thrilling musicianship. The Randy Cannon Group also features rhythm masters Chris Sweeney on drums and Therdsak Wongvichien on bass.
