Bangkok--9 Apr--Penner-Madison
Siam Daikin Sales Co Ltd has announced the opening of Daikin Solution Plaza, the first and only air conditioning technology display centre in Thailand.
Designed and built under a 40 million baht budget and located at the office of Siam Daikin Sales Co Ltd in On Nut , Bangkok, Daikin Solution Plaza is both an exhibition and an educational centre for innovations in residential and commercial air conditioning.
The facility has cutting edge interactive media technology to make the developments in air conditioning easy to understand and entertaining, and has been inspired by other Daikin Solution Plazas in Tokyo and Osaka in Japan, and in China.
Mr Takayoshi Miki, president of Siam Daikin Sales Co Ltd, said in the opening ceremony that Daikin Solution Plaza is another commitment to convey knowledge from the company's collective experience as leader of the air conditioning industry, the parent company having been founded in Japan 90 years ago.
“This facility is a knowledge centre offering excellent information on air-conditioning technology and Daikin air-conditioning products in Thailand," he said. "Customers and members of the public alike are welcome because we use interactive multimedia for easy understanding and an enjoyable educational experience."
Mr Bundit Srivallapanondh, managing director of Siam Daikin Sales Co Ltd said: “Daikin Solution Plaza consists of two main zones, the commercial air conditioning zone and the residential air conditioning zone. These are divided into 21 sub-zones to present a complete view of air conditioning technology.
"The commercial air conditioning zone explains the capacity of a VRV air conditioning system, which is a central condensing system that can connect to more than 20 fan coil units and also support a ceiling unit like VRV Round Flow with Sensing. The visitor will see the intelligent technology that can spread the air flow around, and which can freely control all four of the swinging vanes of the unit with the human sensor and temperature sensor. This works to provide the most comfort cooling and highest energy savings. It can also be set to provide air flow only to the side where humans are sensed.
“The second zone is the residential zone. There is a Humidity Control room that lets the visitor sense the new levels of comfort by comparing the Daikin Urusara7, which has an auto humidity control system, with a conventional air conditioner model. Both units are installed in the same size of room with the same humidity and temperature. Visitors will experience the difference and the real comfort from the Urusara7.
"The demonstration shows how the circulation airflow of the Urasara7 sends the air to the ceiling from where it circulates back to the ground and how this compares to the air flow from the conventional air conditioner. The Urusara7 has a further, better, more balanced air flow.
"There is also an Operation Sound Experience room where visitors can compare the sound volume of a Daikin air conditioner with other air conditioners in the Thai market. The participants will sense the different level of quietness from the Daikin air conditioner, which will not bother users even in their sleep.
"Another demonstration is in the Air Purifier Zone, which uses multimedia to show Flash Streamer technology, licensed by Daikin. The Flash Streamer is healthy for the user as it decomposes bacteria and mould absorbed on the filter by irradiating them. There is also a multimedia presentation of the new R32 refrigerant that Daikin is the world first to start using in introduce it to Thailand."
Mr Bundit said that all of the 21 zones use multimedia combined with the actual product to educate the visitor on why a product is chosen to suit different needs, the reasoning behind the design of the products, and how the products work in order to save energy and be environmentally friendly, which is Daikin’s business philosophy. They also show how intelligent control systems achieve greater comfort, and explain the correct way of installation to obtain the most of the air conditioner's potential and also resolve problems of limited space.
Mr Somporn Jangreenapawong, assistant managing director of Siam Daikin Sales Co Ltd, said: “Buying an air conditioner is a long-term investment, and customers are not only concerned with pricing but are also concerned about long-term benefits and how to prolong the life of a unit. Customers now require information and in-depth reviews on whether or not the air conditioner can fit their needs.
“Daikin Solution Plaza will provide the answer for every question and give a unique perspective on air-conditioning technology. We welcome all types of visitor, from interested customers to business associates, the general public, and students. Daikin also has plans to expand the Daikin Solution Plaza concept outside Bangkok in the future."
