dtac ensures 3G and 4G networks are ready for heavy data usage over Songkran Festival with 24-hour network monitoring team and plans to increase the capacity of 4G network to cope with the extra traffic at “S2O” - (Songkran’s Official Electronic Dance Music Festival), a great EDM music phenomenon to be held during Songkran for the first time in Thailand. dtac will also make WiFi free for everyone and put up fun booths at the music festival.
dtac announces its 4G and 3G readiness for the Songkran Festival for customers both joining the celebration in Bangkok and travelling upcountry. dtac has prepared for the increased mobile traffic by setting up a monitoring team, adjusting parameters to optimize signal performance in high density areas, and increasing bandwidth capacity at key celebration sites across Thailand.
dtac’s network preparation for the festival includes deploying mobile BTS units for signal enhancement to handle high mobile traffic especially at popular locations in Bangkok metropolitan areas such as Khao San Road, Silom Road, Phra Pradaeng, Hua Lamphong Station, and Suvarnabhumi and Don Muang airports and famous tourist destinations such as Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Sukhothai, Lampang, Hua Hin, Phetchaburi, Phuket, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Bang Saen, Pattaya, Chonburi, Kanchanaburi, Suphanburi, Nong Khai, Ubon Ratchathani, and Nakhon Ratchasima etc.

The S2O Festival is a Songkran celebration with EDM (Electronic Dance Music) concert, which features world-class DJs such as Afrojack, Andrew Rayel, Deadmau5, Krewella, and many other famous DJs from Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand to spin throughout the 4-day event. The audience will be treated special effects, including, for the first time in Thailand, the 360-degree water effects that gets everybody soaking wet.
