About the Drum Room:
After a great looking renovation, The Drum Room as its name suggests, is the ‘drum’ that forms part of the musical trio, flanked by our iconic giant guitar landmark that has identified Hard Rock Pattaya all these years, a piano waterfall by the poolside, and the drum. It occupies the space above The Hard Rock Cafe that was previously an open bar space for private banqueting functions. It is no longer a typical party space, and now sports air-conditioning, electronic curtains, a contemporary look and a stylish vibe that is all cool rock & roll. The views are stunning of Pattaya Beach with its palm fringed boardwalk and a hive of water sport activities beyond. The venue can cater from as few as 2 to 200 guests seated with different arrangements for meetings, product launches, private parties, boardroom meetings, dinner parties, corporate gatherings, or just a simple get-together of friends. There is a myriad of new signature menus and coffee breaks that are themed and only available at the Hard Rock, be it a treat of cupcakes, local Thai desserts, cocktails, barista coffees, epic high-end wine & food paired culinary experiences with a live bands or DJ’s for your sonic backdrop. There is an adjoining private outdoor terrace for that sea breeze, perfect for your sunset drink at the end of a work day. A wide range of fun and inspiring teambuilding activities are also available for your team.
The Drum is the world's oldest musical instrument and can be found across the globe, practically in every culture. The basic design has remained virtually unchanged for thousands of years, bet it a bongo, conga, tambourine, snare drum, or the Thai klong yao. With the years and advancing technology, the modern acoustic drum kit is fundamentally the same over the past few decades, but of course, we have nowadays the electronic and digital version of the drums, synthesizers, modulators, electronic pads and computer based beat makers that make up todays’ electro-tech sounds.
Thousands of years ago, the drum started as a communications tool, was used to pass messages over distances, and was important ceremonial instruments in religious and cultural events in any given society’s life, East or West. It was central to rituals and celebrations, and has been developed over time to even ‘talk’ and pass on messages. The ‘talking drum,’ for instance, is an hourglass-shaped drum from West Africa, the pitch can be regulated to mimic the tone and prosody of human speech.
This is not far from what we intend with the Drum Room. It serves as a place for you to meet, talk, motivate and celebrate together with your colleagues and friends, at Hard Rock Pattaya. Rock on. Drum on.
