Dr. Naris Chaiyasoot, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Export-Import Bank of Thailand (EXIM Thailand), said that in 2015, EXIM Thailand will enhance its proactive role in assisting Thai businesses, SMEs in particular, in leveraging on trade and investment opportunities arising in the advent of the ASEAN Economic Community by end-2015. EXIM Thailand will also take advantage of its status as a state-owned specialized financial institution (SFI) to work in collaboration with public and private agencies to drive Thailand’s economic growth in the long run. Currently, the Bank is looking for a qualified candidate to serve as President who could lead the Bank in such a direction.
According to EXIM Thailand’s Chairman, to apply for the President position, applicants must illustrate their vision and strategic thinking on the Bank’s development and management directions during the 4-year tenure as EXIM Thailand President. Applicants are required to demonstrate how to enhance EXIM Thailand’s proactive role in realizing its vision and mission to create the opportunities for Thai enterprises wishing to start up or expand their businesses in the international trade and investment arena. Candidates will also be required to share their vision on how to ensure the Bank’s stability, sound management, high standard of Banking practices and achieve more efficient use of resources, how EXIM Thailand as an SFI could assist the general public to gain better access to financial resources, and essentially how EXIM Thailand could best perform its role in enhancing Thai export, import and overseas investment capabilities.
Recently, EXIM Thailand’s Board of Directors appointed the EXIM Thailand's President Selection Committee chaired by Dr. Ekniti Nitithanprapas, Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors, to undertake the selection process and ensure that the chosen candidate possesses required knowledge, capability, experiences and qualifications in compliance with the Standard Qualifications for State Enterprise Board Members and Staff Act, B.E. 2518 (1975) and its amendments. The application period is from April 30 to May 29, 2015.
