Buying cosmetics and beauty products online needs not be a painful experience rife with hidden costs. As part of the regional partnership Visa and Luxola are bringing simple, fast and secure payment to Thai online shoppers.
Visa cardholders will be able to purchase popular cosmetic and beauty products on Luxola.co.th at 20-percent discount simply by keying in “VISALX20” code at check-out. The offer applies storewide and can be used multiple times throughout the years until 31 January 2016.[2] To sweeten the deal, Luxola will offer monthly free gifts every month for all Visa purchases on top of the discount and surprise offers from May 2015 onwards.[3]
And from 27 April 2015 to 3 May 2015, a special offer on Visa’s Facebook page www.facebook.com/Visa will be available via “VISALXFB” code. Shoppers will receive special gifts from Maybelline in addition to the 20% discount.[4]
This exclusive privilege for Luxola customers came at a time when Thai eCommerce is growing in strength. In Visa eCommerce Consumer Monitor survey released earlier this year, 70% of Thais said they shopped online at least once in the last 12 months.[5] Interestingly, of these online shoppers, 42% said they preferred to buy from local websites only.
“Annual eCommerce spending growth in Thailand has risen by 13.5% and we are looking at an upward trajectory,” said Somboon Krobteeranon, Visa Country Manager, Thailand. The three main reasons cited for shopping online are convenience (72%), the joy of online shopping (59%) and special online only deals (56%).
The top three categories of online purchases are fashion at 36%, bill payments at 33% and cosmetics and beauty products at 28%. Credit and debit payment method made up 56% of total transactions.
“The consumer lifecycle for beauty has moved online – with 55 percent of beauty buyers migrating online for both purchasing and researching products,” said Lorenzo Peracchione, Country Manager, Luxola Thailand.
While Visa’s study has shown that one of the main concerns of online shoppers is delivery, many leading online retailers, including Luxola, have adapted to local demands by launching Luxola.co.th to cater to local consumers, offering same day delivery in Bangkok and next day delivery across Thailand
Shopping online can be done simply and securely with Verified by Visa[6]. It protects Visa cardholders against unauthorised use and involves quick two-step screening to authenticate customer’s purchase.
