Bangkok--12 May--H+K Strategies Thailand
Shell Thailand recently hosted its annual Safety Day with more than 500 employees and retailers taking part in the day’s activities that focused on spreading awareness of road safety within local communities.
“The theme is “Children and road safety” which was in line with Shell’s Safety Day theme is "Achieving Goal Zero…Because We Care”. This year, we asked management and staff show their support for the #SaveKidsLives campaign by coming up with ways to help kids travel safely to their homes. Several of Shell’s activities across the region focused on road safety in the community to strengthen road safety awareness,” Mr. Asada Harinsuit, Country Chairman of Shell Thailand said.
Getting road safety right is a priority for Shell – and a serious challenge. Nearly 1.3 million people are killed on the road globally every year, another 50 million are injured. Besides enforcing Shell's global road safety standards in our workplaces, Shell works with communities and global partners to improve road safety in the countries where we operate.
Shell’s Road Safety Day was also held as part of the company’s commitment to support the United Nations Global Road Safety Week which falls on 4-10 May 2015
