On Monday 25th May from 7.30 p.m., join renowned “Master of Wine” Colin Gent at the intimate 1920s-style restaurant for a fabulous 5-course gourmet dinner with French wine pairings from Emile Guigal.
The wines will be personally introduced by Colin, one of only 300 individuals in the world to be awarded the prestigious title, “Master of Wine”.
Founded in 1946 the Guigal estate is known for the great southern French appellations ofChâteauneuf-du-Pape and Côtes du Rhône which are aged in its cellars at the ancient village of Ampuis.
Babette’s talented Chef Michael Owens has collaborated with Colin to create dishes that will further enhance the premium French wines. Diners will enjoy a light and delicious starter of crab tartare with confit fennel and crispy squid
served with Emile Guigal Côtes du Rhône Blanc, AOC 2012, followed by pan-seared scallops with cauliflower purée and pancetta to savour with Emile Guigal Saint Joseph Blanc, AOC 2012. Highlights of the evening will include
Chef Michael’s Duck and Foie gras terrine, red wine, port sauce and brioche crustypaired with Emile Guigal Crozes Hermitage, AOC 2009, and slow-cooked beef cheek and roasted Wagyu beef with horseradish mash
and baby carrots complemented by Emile Guigal Châteauneuf-du-Pape, AOC 2007. The evening will end with chocolate mousse with raspberry bombe, caramelized white chocolate ice cream served with Graham’s Ruby Port Wine.
