Seagate Technology (NASDAQ: STX), a world leader in storage solutions, today announced it has launched its Seagate Rescue™ data recovery services in Thailand for the Seagate surveillance family of drives, including the seventh-generation Seagate® Surveillance HDD. The Seagate Rescue services will be delivered in partnership with ASD Distribution Co., Ltd., Azking Co., Ltd., Bangkok OA Coms Co., Ltd., Digitalcom and TCT Group in Thailand.
“Over 50 percent of users who had an accident with their drive have experienced data loss,” said Balaji Thangaraj, vice president for research at Boston Analytics. “The Seagate Surveillance HDD with Seagate Rescue services provides consumers and system integrators alike with the critical reliability they expect in an easy, affordable solution, enabling them to gain peace of mind that their content is protected.”
Seagate is the first storage solutions provider to offer a complete protection plan that covers drive replacement and data recovery services. This protection plan covers data recovery services at a fraction of the cost of data recovery services purchased after the event, and keeps systems in the field longer and reduces post-deployment expenses.
“As a long-term partner with Seagate, we value the best-in-class storage performance and reliability of its storage solutions that benefit our customers,” said Arnon Kulawongvanich, general manager of sales and marketing, Bangkok OA. “With the addition of the data recovery services to Seagate surveillance drives, we are able to offer even better after-sales service for our customers, ensuring that their important data will be well protected.”
Activated at time of purchase, Seagate Rescue services provide three years of data recovery for data that may be lost due to physical damage, corruption or accidental deletion. A fast and easy recovery process, Seagate Rescue services can typically restore data within two weeks depending on the type of recovery— with up to a greater than 90 percent success rate in data recovery.
Engineered specifically for surveillance and video analytics applications, Seagate’s surveillance drives are available in capacities ranging from 1TB to up to 6TB in Thailand.
“The video surveillance data is invaluable to the user to either meet industry regulations or leverage for content analysis or security— so when data loss occurs it’s an expense to the customer,” said Rex Dong, managing director of Asia, Seagate Technology. “We are delighted to offer Seagate Rescue services to our customers in Thailand with leading surveillance solutions providers and address these issues head on.”
