ACE invites university and vocational students to propose a CSR plan to win financial support of up to THB 300,000
Applications are now open until 30 June, 2015
ACE INA Overseas Insurance Company Limited and ACE Life Assurance Public Company Limited, both companies of ACE Group, one of the world’s largest multiline property and casualty insurers, will mark the 30th anniversary celebration of ACE Group this year with “Enhancing Lives with ACE 2015.” Following the successful implementation of last year’s CSR program, 2015’s contest once again invites university and vocational students in Thailand to propose Corporate Social Responsibility plans that are in line with ACE’s over-arching philanthropic support for improving education and health, alleviating poverty and saving the environment.
This year’s contest offers an enhanced financial support package totaling THB 300,000 to deliver and manage the deployment of the winning CSR plans. Applications are now open for student teams from across Thailand (submissions will close on 30 June, 2015). The project aims to make real the possibility of creating awareness among the younger generation for social responsibility; to improve education and health, alleviate poverty and save the environment.
Rob Wilkinson, Country President of ACE INA Overseas Insurance, the fully-owned general insurance operation of ACE in Thailand, said, “ACE is pleased to have enjoyed such strong and valuable participation in last year’s Enhancing Lives with ACE initiative, and it is with great excitement that we sustain the momentum in 2015. I am sure the quality and innovation we will see this year will be nothing short of remarkable, and it’s something that delivers real benefits for the Thai community at large. We are pleased to celebrate the 30th anniversary of ACE Group by continuing this successful CSR program.”
Participants in “Enhancing Lives with ACE 2015” must be undergraduate students, should have experience in organizing CSR projects or volunteer activities, and must obtain approval from their universities to participate in this program. The top team will receive a grand prize of up to THB 120,000 to support the CSR program which they have planned. The first runners-up team will receive up to THB 100,000 to support their proposed CSR program, whilst the second runners-up will receive THB 80,000.
Participants must form teams of 5 persons or more. Each team must be an official entity (e.g. club, faculty, department) recognized by their respective universities, and each team must appoint at least one advisor to supervise the implementation of the project.
Ms. Sally O’Hara, Country President of ACE’s life insurance operation in Thailand, explained, “Enhancing Lives with ACE 2015 aims to continue making a difference in the lives of the less privileged and contribute towards environmental protection. We are glad to have received many excellent proposals from students last year, and the CSR projects by the three winners were implemented by both the students and ACE volunteers. This year, we are looking forward to receiving strong and interesting proposals from the students again, which will be judged based on creativity, benefits to the public, and practicality in terms of timeline and budget for implementation. This is the tenth year ACE has held CSR activities in Thailand, and the second consecutive year the company has offered a financial package to support high potential CSR schemes, now increased to a total of THB 300,000.”
