Bangkok--12 Jun--Prem Tinsulanonda International School
Over the past few weeks, the Hope House Exploria has been working tirelessly to raise money for The Hope House Orphanage School in Chiang Mai, in order to buy books and textbooks for the children to use in the school.
To fundraise, Prem Senior School students organised a coin jar competition. Each grade was given a jar and the grade with the most coins, would win a free dress day, along with pizza for the entire grade if more than THB 8,000 was raised. Grades were able to sabotage other classes' jars by donating paper money, which were counted as negative points. To make the competition fair, the total amount raised by each class was divided by the number of the students in each grade.
It was a huge success. After the two-week period, students raised THB 26,000. The overall winner of the competition was the Grade 7 class, which surprisingly had gone from being in last place up until the very last day.
On Wednesday 10 June, during the Senior School assembly, students presented the money raised to a Hope House representative. Thank you to everyone who participated in the coin jar competition and helped raise money for the students of Hope House!
