Mitsubishi Elevator (Thailand) reaffirms its leading position in the elevator and escalator business in Thailand with its current contracts exceeding 12,000 units in 2015. A new Vertical Transportation Training Center has been established as the most complete and modern training center of its kind in this region.
Mr. Tatsuo Matsuoka, Managing Director of Mitsubishi Elevator (Thailand) Co., Ltd., an official vendor, installer and service provider of elevators, escalators and moving walks under the Mitsubishi brand, revealed that Mitsubishi has come to operate in this business in Thailand for almost 40 years. It provides more than 15,000 units of elevators and escalators with exceeding 12,000 units in service contracts. Major projects in 2015 include Mahanakorn, Central Group, MRT – Purple Line, Q.HOUSE group and LPN.
Mr. Matsuoka said that the company’s revenue in 2014 is approximately 3,000 million baht, and the sales target for 2015 is set at 3,300 million baht. The market growth is about 6-7% and the company ranks at No.1 in the business with about 30% market share. Next year’s market demand is forecast to be approximately 5,500 units with increasing demand in upcountry over in Bangkok (about 60:40). Demand in residential and condominium will still be the biggest sector while, in Bangkok, demand in high rise buildings will be increasing, based on new projects and renovation projects.
Mr. Matsuoka said “The secrets of our success come from customer’s trust in quality and reliability of Mitsubishi products which are durable, smooth and can last for 20-30 years without major problems in operation. Customers also believe in the quality of our service. We have expert engineers and mechanics team of more than 300 persons with standardized service level on a par with Mitsubishi Japan. A team of consultants from Japan is always there to support our service operation.”
“Apart from the general services, we also care for the safety issues of our customers and arrange training course about basic knowledge of elevator and rescue operation to provide the basic emergency passengers rescue. Other useful information includes escalator surrounding instruction, preventive and safety instruction to prevent an accident from lift usage as well as instruction and support in case of natural disasters such as earthquake and flooding,” said Mr. Matsuoka
At present, Mitsubishi Elevator (Thailand) Co., Ltd. has its service center located all over Thailand with 300 engineers and mechanics to provide service for elevators and escalators in service contract. Mitsubishi Call Center is ready to serve customers 24 hours, and genuine parts are always available for customers in service contract.
The new Vertical Transportation Training Center which costs nearly 40 million baht in construction is the most complete and modern training center of its kind in ASEAN. Located near km.7, Bang Na-Trad Road, the training center comprises six major training rooms, six passenger lifts, a home lift, a dumbwaiter, an escalator, as well as a showroom for new lift, modernization and access control.
The Vertical Transportation Training Center is established to support increasing demand of elevators units in Thailand, to assure that the staffs have proper skill and knowledge to keep quality of installation and service and sustain safety awareness in workplace and work process. The training center’s target groups include the company’s installation engineers and technicians who have to undergo repetitive process training to increase their expertise, the company’s service team who has to pass one-year training course with additional training such as advanced and refresh courses, engineers and technicians of customers in the service contract and engineers and mechanics from ASEAN countries as this training center is assigned by Mitsubishi Electric Corporation (Japan) to be the regional training hub.
