Bangkok--17 Jun--OutDoor PR Plus The SUPPORT Arts & Crafts International Centre of Thailand (Public Organization) or SACICT will organize ‘The 8th Thai Cotton Fair’ with this year’s theme ‘Thai Cotton Forever’, emphasizing government’s Discover Thainess’s campaign. Kara Polsit and Kemij Chamikorn were selected as event’s brand ambassadors. “Young Gen Cotton Team”, a community of young generation having same passion for hand-woven Thai cotton, was also founded, in addition with creative cotton products from 8 Thailand’s leading product design colleges and universities. Fashion shows will be organized by three leading Thai design studios. Visitors are invited to explore over 100 booths of Thai cotton’s products made by SACICT’s members from all over the country. The highlights are exhibition and demonstration from SACICT’s arts and crafts masters, fashion show of “Thai Sarong (Sin)”, activities from “Sin Lovers”, the showcase of five limited edition textile patterns, and so much more. The 8th Thai Cotton Fair will be held from 9-12 July at SACICT, Bangsai District, Ayutthaya province. SACICT Director-General Mrs. Pimpapan Charnsilp said “Last year’s event was very successful. We were pleased to see the positive feedback and the great attendances from various group of visitors coming from both government and private sectors who are interested in hand-woven cotton. We are then proud to present ‘The 8th Thai Cotton Fair’ which totally fits the government ‘Discover Thainess’ campaign. Hand-woven cotton is Thai remarkable handicraft and is the pride of all Thai people” The theme of this year’s event will be ‘Thai Cotton Forever’ targeting modern lifestyle people in working age who love hand-woven cotton, group of hand-woven cotton producers, fashion and handicraft lovers. The event still has Kara Polsit, famous model and fashion guru, as the event’s brand ambassador, together with the new one, Kemij Chamikorn, a leading actress. In addition, SACICT also plans to promote the trend of hand-woven cotton in young generation by partnering with production and fashion design faculties in eight educational institutions to design and create SACICT’s special products particularly for this event. “Young Gen Cotton” Team is also founded to help support SACICT on public relations and other activities at the event. SACICT believes this year’s event will be more successful than previous years according to the government’s policy motivating Thai people to use more Thai fabrics. “The event will be held in 4 days from 9-12 July 2015. The most highlight is the limited edition of five pattern textiles; Azalea, Flying High, Elegant Lines, Queen's Flower, Charas-lada, with the concept derive from Thai folk wisdom and Queen’s flowers. Those special pattern textiles will be designed and made into different collections by Thailand’s famous fashion studios: Bangkok Fashion & Arts Institute, Tuxila by Vbek Wedding House, BNK Studio Fashion & Design School. Other highlight activities include the exhibition under the topic of ‘Majesty the Queen and SACICT’s Textiles’, ‘Thai Cotton Forever’ themed exhibition, the showcasing of Thai cotton specially designed by leading educational and vocational institutions, exhibition and demonstration from SACICT’s arts & crafts masters, ‘Modern Thai Sarong (Sin)’ fashion show, activities from Sin lovers, exhibition and shops from “Green Craft” cotton, workshop under the topic of ‘Good things about hand-woven Thai cotton’, and exhibition on “ASEAN Fabric” by Paothong Thongchua. SACICT along with Ministry of Commerce will also organize “My Dignity…My Pride” campaign for all departments under the Ministry to attend the working outfits fashion design contest (both for men and women) under the theme of “Smart Looks by Thai Cotton”. The campaign is aimed to be a prototype for other organizations and to promote the use of Thai cotton in different occasions.
