Chevron Thailand Exploration and Production, Ltd., in collaboration with the Ministry of Science and Technology's National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), launches "Enjoy Science: Let's Print the World" camp to organize a workshop on 3D printing for young people and the general public selected as finalists from "Let's Print the World", Thailand's first-ever 3D printing innovation and design contest atSirindhorn Science Home, Thailand Science Park, NSTDA during 4-5 July 2015. "Let's Print the World'' is the pilot project of Chevron's "Enjoy Science," a five-year, nationwide initiative in collaboration with the public and private sectors. Backed by a combined budget of 900 million baht, the initiative aims to enhance Thailand's long-term national competitiveness through educational development in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) across general and vocational education systems.
At the camp, the finalists were trained on 3D printing technology and design skills from speakers and experts to be able to develop their designs into 3D printed item for the final round of judging. Winners will receive a grand prize worth 200,000 baht – including round-trip tickets and accommodation to visit Maker Faire, the world-class fair for inventors and innovators in Germany, as well as a 3D printing kit in order to gain more experience and inspiration. The total prize is worth 680,000 baht.
