Canadian filmmaker and queer cinema auteur Bruce LaBruce who is no stranger to controversy made a huge surprise for critics and his fans with a new romantic comedy film entitled “GERONTOPHILIA”. Dubbed as his sweetest film yet, Bruce continues to be as provocative as he used to by following his fascination with taboo sexual behavior through a story about a relationship between a teenage boy and a much older man.
GERONTOPHILIA which means ‘the love or sexual preference for the elderly’ tells a story of an 18-year-old Lake who one day discovers that he has an unusual attraction for old men. Fate conspires to land him a summer job at a nursing home where he develops a tender relationship with Mr.Peabody. Discovering that the patients are being over-medicated to make them easier to manage, Lake decides to wean Mr. Peabody off this medication and help him escape, resulting in a humorous and heartfelt road trip that strengthens their bond.
