Canon Thailand today reaffirms its leading position in digital imaging solutions by joining hands with Photo Bug to launch its first exclusive brand retail store called "Canon Image Square" in Thailand. The first center of its kinds showcases the best of Canon photography and print imaging technologies in a hands-on, experimental environment. Canon expects that this new franchise business model will help boost its brand awareness and sales across the country.
Canons Marketing (Thailand) Ltd 's Vice President ,Mr. Warin Tantipongpanich said the open of Canon Image Square via franchising, which is a successor of its "Canon New Concept Store", is expected to increase sale growth of both Image Communications Products (cameras and lenses) and Consumer Systems Products (printers and presentation equipment) in different areas.

Photographic equipment retailer Photo Bug is Canon's first franchise partner for the opening of the first center of its kinds in Thailand called "Canon Image Square by Photo Bug" located on the 3rd floor of Central Airport Plaza in Chiang Mai, one of Thailand's most popular cities for tourists. In addition, Canon Image Square by Photo Bug is recognized as the concept store for other Canon Image Square outlets that will be launched in the future. The company plans to open the second store in Khon Kaen soon. Presided over by executives of Canon and Photo Bug, the official opening ceremony of Thailand's first Canon Image Square was filled with members of the media and Canon fans who come to congratulate on their big step forward. An exclusive photography workshop by the experts was also provided for guests at the event.
Canon Image Square is one of Canon's strategic plans to expand its retail business via franchising which is now available in many Asian countries.
