Bangkok--31 Jul--Maxima Consultants Following PPTV's success in securing the license to broadcast live, two of the world's biggest football tournaments: The UEFA Under 21 Championship and the International Champions Cup, PPTV has acquired the sub-license right to live broadcast the immensely popular Barclays Premier League 2015-2016 on Digital Terrestrial Television (FREE TV) platform thereby allowing the Thai public to watch 26 matches of the most loved tournament by Thais nationwide. The acquisition has been made through CTH Public Company Limited who holds the licensee rights to the BPL in Thailand, Laos and Cambodia on all platforms. Kicking off the live broadcast with an on ground event "PPTV kicks off The Barclays Premier League 2015-2016" on August 8th from 16.00 hrs onwards at the Indoor Stadium Plaza, Huamak. At the event, PPTV will broadcast live the opening match between the most popular team Manchester United vs Tottenham Hotspur. The event marks a new phenomenon with the most number of matches ever seen broadcast on one free TV station in Thailand. Mr. Kematat Paladesh, the President of Bangkok Media & Broadcasting Co., Ltd., commented that PPTV has received many positive feedbacks from the football lovers from the last two tournaments that were broadcast live on PPTV and our online digital platforms including our mobile application: PPTV Beyond. This has proven the popularity of Thais' love for sports. For the latter half of 2015-2016, PPTV has added premium content to reiterate our position as a provider of 'premium quality, mass appeal' content on the DTT platform, particularly sports which are among the four key content categories. For this reason, we have secured the deal with CTH Public Company Limited to exclusively broadcast the Barclays Premier League 2015-2016 on Thailand's free TV platform. A maximum number of 26 matches will be broadcast live for the enjoyment of the general Thai public. The opening match between Manchester United vs Tottenham Hotspur will be shown on a giant LED screen during our launch event on August 8th from 16.00 hrs onwards at the Indoor Stadium Plaza, Huamak.
