Mr. Lars-Åke Norling, Chief Executive Officer, Total Access Communication PLC (dtac) and dtac TriNet Co., Ltd. delightedly reveals that dtac plays a significant role in revolutionizing Thailand’s telecommunications industry with infrastructure sharing, which will become the foundation for the development of a more effective, stable, and sustainable industry. dtac has reached an agreement with CAT Telecom to set up a joint venture to manage shared telecom towers and fibre-optic infrastructure. Meanwhile, dtac TriNet has reached a partnership agreement with Advanced Wireless Network Co., Ltd. (AWN) to share some of their telecommunication towers.
These partnerships are significant in unlocking the potential of the country’s telecommunications industry as infrastructure can now be shared and fully utilized to enhance access and connectivity, promote high service standards, and encourage new innovations in the telecommunications ecosystem – in line with the target to achieve 80% active Internet users by 2017, as per the Digital Economy strategy aiming to expand mobile internet coverage as much as possible.
