EVA Air, Shanghai Tourism Team Up Host Bangkok event to promote Taiwan, Yangtze River Delta travel

Bangkok--30 Sep--EVA Air EVA Air, Taiwan's leading independent airline, and the Shanghai Municipal Tourism Administration (SMTA) kicked off a campaign to promote Taipei and Yangtze River Delta Region travel with an exclusive event for tour operators and cooperation partners at the InterContinental Hotel Bangkok today (on 21 Sept., 2015). EVA and SMTA treated their special travel professional guests to a cultural showcase of tourism attractions, resources and opportunities and invited them to mingle with cohosts' representatives and each otherEVA, SMTA and Thailand staged the event to launch a collaborative program the trio created to make travel within Asia an even greater trend than it already is. EVA Air Senior Vice President and Thailand Representative Clark Yeh welcomed guests and introduced the airline's convenient connections and comfortable services. "Chinese culture is ancient, unique and mysterious to many people and experiencing it can be an unforgettable adventure," Mr. Yeh said. "Taipei and Shanghai are travelers' top-two destination choices for sightseeing, food and cultural experiences. At the same time, business opportunities in this region are thriving and travelers recognize that they can save time and money by combining Taipei and Shanghai into one trip. And as a Star Alliance member, EVA offers travelers from Thailand and those transiting through Bangkok more flights with easy, convenient services to Taiwan and one-stop connections on to the Yangtze River Delta region." Shanghai, with a population of more than 23 million people, is the largest and most developed city in China and sits in the heart of the Yangtze River Delta Region. SMTA Director Li Bincheng presented a virtual tour of new attractions and growing tourism opportunities in the Shanghai and Yangtze River Delta region. He introduced the world'ssecond-tallest building, the Shanghai Tower and revealed that Disneyland in Shanghai will open in spring 2016. Director Li also invited guests to visit Shanghai and see for themselves why it is an amazing destination for all reasons and seasons. "The successful Shanghai World Expo 2010 brought travelers to our great city and opened the door for more," Mr. Li said. "Now, the China Art Museum, the Power Station of Art, Expo Park and other activities on the spacious grounds are tremendous assets for visitors. Shanghai has traditionally offered an alluring mix of tourism resources and we are making it even more attractive by developing and upgrading shopping, entertainment, leisure, access to famous attractions and conference facilities. And the friendly openness of the people of Shanghai and the Yangtze River Delta make it especially welcoming." Taipei and Shanghai attract more and more Thai visitors every year. Over 112 thousand passengers took EVA from Bangkok to Taipei in 2014. The numbers of travelers visiting both destinations is expected to increase this year. EVA and SMTA are working with travel agents to build more traffic from Bangkok. Travelers can book EVA to experience the charms of the two cities in one trip. Thailand is one of the most important tourism markets in Southeast Asia and a major hub for EVA where travelers can take advantage of the airline's 14 weekly flights to Amsterdam, Vienna and London. EVA operates 17 convenient flights a week between Bangkok and Taipei, giving travelers flexibility.
