TMA invites Asean leaders to join its “ASEAN Business Forum 2015” to build the strong value chain for Asean economy and enhance the region’s competitiveness

Bangkok--14 Oct--Make A Wealth Consulting Thailand Management Association has annually set the ASEAN Business Forum 2015 and invited Asean leaders from both public and private sectors to brainstorm for a value chain to connect the key industry groups and raise the region's competitiveness in the global arena. Mr Visit Tantisuntorn, Chairman of Thailand Management Association (TMA), said at ASEAN Business Forum 2015 that the forming of Asean Economic Community by the end of this year will create business challenges and opportunities. So, Asean countries need to collaborate with their neighbor to drive the region's growth and enhance competitiveness. Building a value chain to link various key industries such as tourism, food and energy will move forward the economy growth of Asean sustainably. "The "ASEAN Business Forum 2015" has invited leaders from many industrial sectors in Asean to join the forum as it wanted to build business confidence and to establish Asean as a hub for international businesses, as well as to create a value chain to connect all industries group. Joining the forum are Mr Akom Termpitayapaisit, Transport Minister, Mr Tevin Vongvanich, president and CEO of PTT Plc, Mr Nithi Pattarachoke, Vice President-Domestic Market, SCG Group, Mr. Yasushi Negishi, Country Director for Thailand, Asian Development Bank, Mr. Frank Krings, Chief Country Officer Thailand, Deutsche Bank AG, Mr. Gary Grimmer, CEO of Gaining Edge from Australia, UN advisor for the meeting, incentive, convention and exhibition business (MICE)". Mr Nopparat Maythaveekulchai, President of Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), as the strategic partner said to support the ASEAN Business Forum 2015 has aligned with TCEB's mission to develop the domestic MICE (D-MICE) industry. The bureau is encouraging business organizations and local associations to hold meetings and seminars while it will draw more international meetings and conferences to be held in Thailand. With its "Meeting in Thailand, A Pride of the Country" strategy, TCEB will promote MICE events in five MICE cities including Bangkok, Pattaya, Chiang Mai, Phuket and Khon Kaen. Moreover, TCEB will promote other MICE cities as alternatives to accommodate D-MICE activities and support the government policy to encourage government agencies and state enterprises to organize meetings and seminars as well as training in a bid to drive the local economy. "Apart from building a trust and confidence for the business sector, TMA aims to support the country's readiness and competitiveness as its mission. Evidently, many industries in Thailand are seemingly to be ready such as food industry and MICE industry. However, some other sectors still need to adapt themselves to catch up in the ever-change world. Organizing ASEAN Business Forum 2015 is one event that reflects TMA's mission which can foster and develop skill and capability of Thai business as well as a group of entrepreneurs, so they can learn and sharing of practical managerial knowledge. Moreover, it will provide and support networking opportunities which will lead to the enhancement of Thailand competitiveness in the Asean and international arenas" said Miss Wanweera Rachdawong, CEO, Thailand Management Association. ASEAN Business Forum 2015 held during Oct 14-15, 2015 at Athenee Crystal Hall, Plaza Athene Bangkok A Royal Meridien Hotel with the collaboration of Thailand Management Association and the Thai Chamber of Commerce. The forum is expected to welcome more than 500 business leaders and executives from Thai and international countries.
