Bangkok--22 Oct--PTT
Catering to all lifestyles, PTT's First Life Station in Cambodia offers Cambodian and other motorists visiting World Heritage site. Plans afoot to grow service stations to 70 by 2020 in pursuit of ASEAN's brand leadership, while accommodating AEC by the year-end.
Today (October 22, 2015), Mr. Piyasvasti Amranand, PTT Plc Chairman, and Mr. Sarun Rungkasiri, PTT Plc Chief Operating Officer, Downstream Petroleum Business Group (COOD), inaugurated the maiden PTT service station in Siam Reap, Cambodia. The 3,900-square-meter 'platinum' PTT Life Station offers Cambodians as well as visitors and Thais goods and services of fine quality and standards, popularizing Thai brands in the region and bolstering Thai pride.
The PTT COOD said PTT's policy is to grow investment abroad, specially that in ASEAN member countries, commonly regarded as a high-potential market with robust economic growth. Thanks to Cambodia's dynamic growth, PTT is today launching the first platinum Life Station in Siam Reap, site of Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom, and stone palaces. More stations would provide Cambodians, Thais, and other tourists with convenience, premium fuels, and impressive services from several outlets from Thailand and local areas, including Jiffy convenience stores, Cafe Amazon equipped with free Wi-Fi, Black Canyon restaurants, Pueng Ngee Hiang souvenir shops, and Mike's Burger outlets, which are popular in that country. PTT plans to grow its service-station total in Cambodia from 26 by the end of this year to 70 by the end of 2020. By this year-end, it will command service stations in four other ASEAN countries, namely Cambodia, the Philippines, Laos People Democratic Republic, and Myanmar, totaling some 150.
"PTT also values community and environmental stewardship for Cambodians through the 'PTT Seeding the Future' program, consisting of scholarship and sports-gear awards to local youths; study tours to Thailand for Cambodian youths as part of their worldview broadening and capacity-building; donation of rubber traffic cones to local agencies; and organization of safe-driving training to support safe motoring among Cambodians," Mr. Rungkasiri added.
This latest move illustrates PTT's commitment to bolstering pride among Thais. By distributing Thai-standard goods and services through service stations among neighboring and other foreign countries, PTT strengthens the relationship among Thailand and these countries, while gearing Thailand up for the imminent implementation of AEC (ASEAN Economic Community) by this year-end. All these will yield long-term, mutual energy development.
