The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) main index ended October at 1,394.94 points, a 3.4 percent increase from end of September, but 6.9 percent decrease from end-2014. Positive factors boosting the index included the fact that the Federal Reserve kept interest rates unchanged, the European Central Bank's and the People's Bank of China's plan to launch economic stimulus.
The SET index movement was in line with other markets in the Asian region and the increase was more than those of MSCI Asia ex Japan Index, MSCI Emerging Markets Index and MSCI Frontier Markets Index.
The combined market capitalization of the SET's main board and Market for Alternative Investment (mai) was THB 13.58 trillion (USD 377 billion) at the end of October, a 4.62 percent drop from end-2014. The combined average daily securities trading value of the SET's main board and mai increased 9.52 percent compared to the month earlier to THB 43.21 billion (USD 1.2 billion).

- Market capitalization of SET was at THB 13.22 trillion (USD 367.2 billion) at the end of October, a 4.57 percent drop from end-2014, while market valuation of mai was at THB 358.5 billion (USD 10 billion), down 6.42 percent from the end of 2014.
- Forward P/E ratio for SET was at 15.04 times, while mai's was at 30.15 times.
- Dividend yield for SET was 3.19 percent, while mai's was 1.19 percent.
- The combined average daily securities trading value of SET and mai in October increased 9.52 percent from September (m-o-m) to THB 43.2 billion, and trading in the first ten months rose 5.4 percent to an average of THB 45.2 billion compared to the same period a year earlier.
- Listed companies on SET and mai raised funds through equity worth a combined THB 9.31 billion (USD 258.8 million) in October, of which THB 6.48 billion was raised from initial public offerings and THB 2.84 billion from the secondary market. Total fundraising in the first ten months of this year was at THB 224.4 billion, a 1.2 percent rise from the same period in 2014.

- In October, derivatives average daily trading volume decreased 26.5 percent from September to an average of 167,999 contracts per day, mainly stemming from the decrease in SET50 Index Futures and Single Stock Futures.
