Lazada now operates on 17,000 square meters warehouse that can store up to 500,000 items
Lazada, the leading online shopping and selling destination in Southeast Asia, has announced an expansion of its Thailand warehouse as part of its development to meet the needs of the company's rapidly growing retail business.
The expanded operation is the latest of Lazada's investment in its logistics infrastructure, and is one of 10 facilities in Southeast Asia. Situated in TPARK Bangplee 3, the center will service the growing demand of its retail business in Thailand, and the 60% expansion comes just one year after it was moved to the current location. Thanks to Lazada Express together with the 6 International and Local third party logistics providers, customers all over the country, from Bangkok all the way to Betong and Mae Sariang districts can now enjoy the fast and reliable delivery from same day in Bangkok up to 3 days up country.
"In just three years in Thailand, we have grown rapidly, thanks to the support of our customers who appreciate our offerings -- a wide assortment of local, international and exclusive products, secure payment options including cash-on-delivery, and fast and reliable delivery. The expansion of our warehouse in Bangplee marks our step forward in strengthening our business to provide the best-in-class online experience to Lazada Thailand customers." said Bertrand Peyrat, COO, Lazada Thailand.
The new 17,000 square meters warehouse can store up to 500,000 items from a needle to large size refrigerators. Orders can be processed in the warehouse with enhanced mobile picking technology. The warehouse uses a proprietary 'technology stack' that helps provide end-to-end order coverage by connecting all parties involved in order fulfilment. The system is fully automated to provide greater efficiency, productivity and accuracy. Lazada's customer service platform helps the company stay on top of deliveries, proactively reach out to customers to share order updates and collect valuable feedback in real-time.
"Lazada chose TPARK for the strategic location of the facility and for their flexibility to support us for future expansion required by our fast growing business." Mr. Bertrand adds.
Mr. Patan Somburanasin, Managing Director of TICON Logistics Park Co., Ltd. or TPARK, Thailand's leading facilities developer of quality warehouses, added, "TPARK Bangplee 3 is most suitable for Lazada's product distribution thanks to its location situated on Bangna-Trad between KM. 19 and KM. 23, close to the Industrial Ring Road, which allows for quick, efficient, and timely shipments nationwide while also giving us effective control over logistical costs. At present TPARK has a total land bank of over 600 rai in Bangplee area which includes both developed and projects under development, providing a total of over 500,000 sq m of warehouses for lease. This factor will favor existing customers who need available ready-built warehouses and land to serve their business expansion rapidly, including any new customers who need immediate warehouse spaces."
"Lazada is TPARK's first customer in the e-commerce business and represents an excellent opportunity for us to serve Lazada's expansion. Lazada is the leader in the online shopping business and TPARK is confident that the location and quality of our warehouse are ideal for the distribution center of this online shopping business and can enhance its business growth as well" Mr. Patan concluded.
