GrabTaxi Celebrates Second Anniversary in Thailand with Gold Giveaway

To reward GrabTaxi users, GrabTaxi will be giving out 10 Baht worth of gold to lucky passengers from 30 November to 1 December 2015. Since entering the Thai market in 2013, GrabTaxi has drastically improved the quality and safety of the traveling public through its multiple transport offerings, while continuously contributing to betterment of Thai society. A recent survey showed that 9 out of 10 women in Thailand who use taxis say they now feel safer with GrabTaxi, and feel safer taking taxis at night. Consumer and driver campaigns to celebrate GrabTaxis's second anniversary As part of its second anniversary celebrations, GrabTaxi is holding aGrab2Gold campaign to reward customers. From 30 November to 1 December 2015, passengers who book a GrabTaxi using the promo code 'HBD' from 10am to 8pm will eligible for a lucky draw. Two gold necklaces will be given away every two hours on both days, with a total of 20 gold necklaces worth 500,000 THB to be given away. The Gold winners will be announced through GrabTaxi's Facebook page on both days. In addition, GrabTaxi is holding a series of events as part of the anniversary as it looks to give back to Thai society, and specifically its drivers. GrabSchool, an innovation workshop initiative to encourage entrepreneurship as a viable future career for drivers' children, is taking place on 28 November 2015. GrabSchool is part of GrabTaxi's continuous efforts to improve the welfare of taxi drivers and their families in Thailand – by teaching the children new skills and help to cultivate the Thailand startup scene. The one day workshop will be held at Chulalongkorn University, in partnership with Asian Leadership Academy, an initiative set up by a group of Stanford Graduate School of Business alumni to groom young leaders in Thailand to think innovatively. This is the first GrabSchool to be organised in Thailand and has been successfully held in Malaysia, Philippines and Singapore. GrabTaxi also held a drivers' party on 22 November 2015 in appreciation of taxi drivers, who are the backbone of the GrabTaxi service and of Thailand's transport industry. 350 drivers attended the party in support of GrabTaxi Thailand, which as helped to increase their incomes over the past two years by providing more customer bookings. GrabTaxi drivers have seen an average increase of about 50 per cent in their incomes since they started using the GrabTaxi app. The GrabTaxi team and drivers were treated to an all-you-can-eat buffet of food and drinks, entertainment, and birthday cake fun.
