The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) announces the 21 winners from 18 listed firms of SET Awards 2015, with Banthoon Lamsam, CEO of Kasikornbank pcl (KBANK), Somprasong Boonyachai, CEO of Intouch Holdings pcl (INTUCH), winning the Best CEO award of SET-listed companies and Pichaet Wiriyachitra, Managing Director of Asian Phytoceuticals pcl (APCO), being awarded with the Best CEO award of mai-listed companies, while Kasikorn Securities pcl and Jubilee Enterprise pcl have been winners for SET Awards of Honor for second consecutive year. Deputy Minister of Finance Wisudhi Srisuphan has presided over the ceremony and bestowed the awards today.
SET President Kesara Manchusree said that since listed firms' market capitalization has changed overtime, this year the SET Awards committee has revised some criterias by adjusting the market capitalization range of each group in all fairness and suitability among listed firms to compete in effectiveness and growth. The securities firms and asset management firms which have achieved the awards this year have capabilities and commitment towards quality development. This would help strengthen Thai capital market in the long run."
"The two winners of Best CEO of SET and one of mai are visionary leaders with outstanding capabilities and they all were winners for the previous SET awards with Banthoon Lamsam, Kasikornbank CEO, being Best CEO winner for SET award 2003, while Somprasong Boonyachai, Intouch Holdings CEO, winning Best CEO winner for SET award 2012, as well as Pichaet Wiriyachitra, Asian Phytoceuticals Managing Director, gaining Best CEO winner for SET award 2014," added Kesara.
Santi Viriyarungsarit, Editor-in-Chief of Money & Banking magazine, the SET Awards co-host and one of the distinguished judges, said, "This year, Best CEO awards and Outstanding CEO awards are granted to the total 10 top executives, being, the highest number ever, thanks to their high potentials and abilities to drive organizations amid crisis and global economic slowdown. For two Best CEO Awards for both Banthoon and Somprasong, the committee had judged from their proven distinguished and well-round capabilities."
