Bangkok--4 Dec--Total Quality PR
Siam Winery, Thailand's leading wine producer and importer of premium brands, continues building its vision of a "Thai Wine Culture" by inviting wine enthusiasts to a memorable Montecillo wine dinner evening on November 19 2015 at Manhattan Bar, JW Marriot Hotel, Bangkok. The evening is joined by passionate brand ambassador Ms. Rocio Osborne, a 6th generation member of the Osborne family whose Osborne Group is a family business with over 200 years of history. Having won an illustrious range of awards around the world, the evening celebrates the group's Montecillo wines, which was founded in 1874 and is one of Spain's first wineries.
Montecillo wines, the true Rioja character at its best, stems from the Rioja region which is a master of wine regions being most renowned in Spain and one of the best reputed and prestigious in the world. Montecillo means "little mountain/hill" in Spanish, which honours the first terriors planted for this wine on a sunny hillside at its inception. For 140 years, Montecillo has been a family-owned winery in which traditions and wine passion are the foundation to build an even better future. This is illustrated by the customisation of barrels to suit each wine type in order to get the best from the oak variety, with each Montecillo barrel averaging a lifetime of nearly 5 years, while also balancing the use of cutting-edge technology while ageing inside an ancient underground protected cave as it has been done for centuries.
"In the name of Montecillo wines, I am delighted to be in Thailand and to be among Thai wine enthusiasts. We are lucky to have very good vineyards for Montecillo, with wines that have been growing grapes for more than a century. I sincerely hope our wines will show you the spirit of "True Rioja", and would like to thank Siam Winery's support as we share Montecillo wine selections for Thais to experience", said Ms. Osborne.
Montecillo red wines use carefully selected Tempranillo grapes from Rioja Alta, which are the best for ageing and grown for a minimum for 15 years. Located in the north of Spain, the wine benefits from the Atlantic and Mediterranean climates interacting to provide mild temperatures and rainfall over mainly fertile chalky clay soils. Tempranillo is an indigenous grape variety, and known as Spain's quintessential "Noble Grape", marked by strong fruit flavors and aromas. Hence, the finished wines crafted include an intense colour, elegance, finesse and perfect acidity that is wholesome and fruity. As a Rioja wine, Montecillo has won widespread respect for its passion and regional authenticity – resulting in an extremely high customer loyalty.
"Siam Winery hopes to instil a wine culture in Thailand for generations to come, just like Montecillo which has transmitted its richness to wine connoisseurs and loyal Montecillo lovers over the years. This is an outstanding Spanish wine which I am delighted to share, and it's an honour to welcome Ms. Osborne who comes from a unique family winery with a high quality wine for our fellow wine enthusiasts here in Thailand to enjoy", said Mr. Boonyarat Ngampatipatpong, Marketing Director, Siam Winery.
