Bangkok--11 Dec--Tesco Lotus
General Prayuth Chan-ocha, the Prime Minister of Thailand, presents an award to Mr. Charkrit Direkwattanachai, Head of Corporate Communications and Sustainability of Tesco Lotus, recognising the retailer's environmental preservation efforts, on the occasion of the Thai Environment Day this year, at Impact Arena. Tesco Lotus, Thailand's leading retailer, has consistently carried out campaigns promoting environmental awareness and preservation among its employees and customers. The green retailer encourages less usage of plastic carrier bags, by offering incentives such as extra reward points for customers who refuse to take a plastic bag when shopping at Tesco Lotus. This year, the retailer has saved more than 30 million plastic bags, and aims to reach 40 million bags by the end of 2015.
