115 team members and their family members from the Holiday Inn Golden Mile, and from across the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) have raised over HK$145,000 for cancer charities after participating in 'The Stride for a Cure Cancer Fund Charity Walk'. For the third year running the hotel group was honoured to win the 'Top Corporate Fundraiser Award' for their commitment to the walkathon, which the group received from the Hong Kong Cancer Fund. Organised by the Hong Kong Cancer Fund, the annual 10km walk took place recently at Tai Tam Country Park in the New Territories.
The vision of the event is 'Every Step Counts towards Bringing Cancer under Control'. Since starting in 1996 'The Stride for a Cure' campaign has raised over HK$45 million to fund local cancer research projects while at the same time promoting physical exercise and healthy living. Every single dollar raised goes directly to vital ongoing local cancer research, which has helped save and cure many individuals. This initiative also displays the endless support to those affected by cancer.

Teams from both the Holiday Inn Golden Mile and IHG participated in the walkathon. Included in the IHG hotel collection is Crowne Plaza Kowloon East, Crowne Plaza Causeway Bay, Hotel Indigo Hong Kong Island, Holiday Inn Express Causeway Bay, Holiday Inn Express Hong Kong SoHo, Holiday Inn Express Kowloon East and Holiday Inn Express Mongkok.
