Selecting contact lens with a valid prescription and suit wearer's usage is very important. With the aim to deliver the best eye care service, Johnson & Johnson Vision Care (JJVC) recently cooperated with the leading optical store to elevate and enhance standard of full eye care service by conducting course for eye care standard to salespersons. JJVC also launch new 'Fitting Center by Johnson & Johnson Vision Care' where professional salespersons provide the service for customers.
Ms. Saowanee Pankajornvej, Business Manager, Johnson & Johnson Vision Care Co., Ltd, said "Johnson & Johnson Vision Care as a leading brand contact lens, strongly aware on consumer eye health. We not only create the products to fulfil consumer's needs, but also take the initiative in bringing new innovation and technology to develop eye care service. Consumers can ensure that they will receive accurate eye check-up and the best service from professional salespersons. All of these, we would like to complete the highest standard of eye care for our consumers."
The factor which contact lens wearers should be aware is to avoid purchasing lens without the advice from eye care professional. Consumers should ask for consultation and have an eye check-up at optical store. On top of this, most of them lack of knowledge about selecting the appropriate base curve. Because the curvature of the cornea of each persons haven't the same size. Wearing contact lens that does not fit properly maybe leads your eyes irritated and inflamed in long-term usage.
Besides assessing the curvature of the cornea by computer device, there is another way called "Push-up test" to check on lens fitting by letting users put their thumb on the lower lid, then gently push-up on the lens over the apex of cornea and release finger from lower lid. After that observing and evaluating how contact lens slides down such as slide with a rapid movement, drop gently over the apex of the cornea or remain over the apex. Since the speed of lens movement will be indicated that you are wearing lens which fit your curvature of the cornea or not.
Salespersons are also the essential part for taking care of customers. They have to gain the knowledge and deep understanding about vision care so that they can advise their customers on select suitable contact lens and how to wear lens properly. Salespersons who offer the service at Fitting Center by Johnson & Johnson will be trained with course for eye care standard including Basic Clinical – Ocular Anatomy, Instruction for inserting and removing lens, How to recommend and success In-store and Learning about benefits of healthy contact lens. The goals of this course are to establish standards for providing the best service to all of customers.
M Siraprapa Jirapan, PR and Marketing Manager of luxury watch brand, added "I am short-sightedness and have to wear contact lens frequently. But my problem is size of base curve that doesn't fit my eyes. Normally, I pay attention on choosing proper contact lens and receiving eye care service at optical store. I recently had an eye test at Fitting Center from Johnson & Johnson where I got contact lens trial.
