Bangkok--8 Jan--The Okura Prestige Bangkok Yamazato, the award-winning signature Japanese restaurant at The Okura Prestige Bangkok, is presenting new Gozen and Kaiseki set menus for the Setsubun bean throwing Festival from 28 January - 6 February 2016. The popular Setsubun Festival in Japan marks the final day of winter in the ancient Japanese calendar. Setsubun literally means the 'day before Spring'. The rituals include bean throwing to keep away evil spirits and the eating of an Ehomaki roll whilst facing towards the 'lucky direction' for that year. In 2016, the direction is to the south east. Roasted beans are thrown in the home for good luck and to keep out evil spirits. Legend states that eating the same number of beans as your age brings good health. The Gozen set menu is priced at Baht 900++ per person. The Kaiseki seven-course menu, priced at Baht 3,000++ per person, includes a special grilled dish of Spanish mackerel. Guests may also order, for take-out, a choice of dishes priced at Baht 450+. Yamazato is located on the 24th Floor of The Okura Prestige Bangkok. Open for lunch from 11:30 am – 2:30 pm and dinner from 6:00 pm – 10:30 pm. For more information and reservations, please call 02 687 9000 or email [email protected] Prices are subject to 10% service charge and 7% government tax, except the price for take-out which is exempt from service charge but include 7% government tax.
