Bangkok--26 Jan--SET Market for Alternative Investment (mai), jointly with Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration of Chulalongkorn University (Sasin), will organize the "mai Bangkok Business Challenge®@ Sasin 2016", Thailand's only global new venture plan competition, from February 11-13, 2016. The theme for this year's 14th annual competition is "The Seeds of Success for Sustainable Future". The winning team will receive His Majesty The King's Award. The uniqueness of the competition has continued to attract a large number of teams from leading business schools from around the world. The mai Bangkok Business Challenge @ Sasin aims to foster the entrepreneurship spirit among business school students from all over the world, to become successful entrepreneurs and create sustainable businesses for the future. This year 48 teams from 17 countries from five continents have entered the business plan competition. After undergoing screening sessions, 16 teams were selected for the semi-final round, coming from leading business schools in 11 different countries, namely the United States of America (University of Oregon Lundquist College of Business, Cornell University, and Rice University); Taiwan (National Chiao Tung University); France (ESSEC Business School); the Philippines (Asian Institute of Management); India (Indian School of Business:ISB and Chitkara University); Indonesia (Prasetiya Mulya Business School); Denmark (Technical University of Denmark); Bangladesh (University of Dhaka); United Arab Emirates (American University of Sharjah); Australia (Queensland University of Technology); and Thailand (Chulalongkorn University Business School, Naresuan University, and Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration of Chulalongkorn University). The grand prize winner of the competition will receive His Majesty The King's Award. Other prestigious prizes consist of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn's Sustainability Award, and the Houston Technology Center-Asia Innovation Award. The total value of the prizes is more than USD 46,000. Major sponsors are The Stock Exchange of Thailand, SCG pcl, Houston Technology Center Asia, with the support of Pernod Ricard (Thailand) Co., Ltd., Kiatnakin Bank pcl, Tesco Lotus, and Money Channel.
