Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok welcomes family members for their annual gatherings to celebrate the beginning of the Year of the Monkey with auspicious Chinese dishes at Shang Palace, Volti ristorante & bar and Lobby Lounge.
Shang Palace:
Guests can indulge in three special set menus created by Chinese-born Executive Chinese Chef Chow Wai Man and his team, available from 6 to 22 February 2016 for lunch and dinner. The set menus include:• Fortune Set for 25,888++ baht per table of 10 guests
• Prosperity Set for 28,888++ baht per table of 10 guests
• Longevity Set for 38,888++ baht per table of 10 guests
All special Chinese New Year dishes are made of traditional ingredients that will enhance the happiness of family gatherings, such as prawns for liveliness, raw fish for good luck, and edible angel hair-like seaweed for prosperity.
Special à la carte Chinese New Year dishes are also available for lunch and dinner from 6 to 22 February 2016, while the Chinese New Year dim sum menu is on offer for lunch only.
Celebrating guests who enjoy the auspicious menu for dinner on 7 February 2016 and 8 February for lunch and dinner are entitled to test their fortune on Ang Pao lucky draws.
Volti ristorante & bar:
Chef Luca Casini has created a four-course Italian dinner menu for guests and family members to celebrate Chinese New Year at the restaurant, where they can enjoy watching the chef team prepare their dishes, or experience al fresco dining in an outdoor terrace from 6 to 12 February 2016.
The Four-Course Lucky Set Menu features Gold Risotto, Acquarello, Saffron and Parmesan Cheese; White Sole Fish, Fennel, Lemon, Dill, Capers and Parsley; Blueberry Souffle, Berry Sorbet and Vanilla; and a Petit Four to finish the course. The set is priced at 1,988++ baht per person and includes complimentary monkey-themed biscuits by Chef Casini.
Lobby Lounge:
The restaurant takes part in the Chinese community's big day by offering a special Monkey Mascot Afternoon Tea Set that includes exquisite monkey-themed delicacies from 6 to 13 February 2016. Guests can indulge in the special afternoon tea set for 800++ baht per set from 2 to 6 p.m. Guests will have a chance to draw the lucky Ang Pao to win fabulous prizes from the hotel.
All prices are subject to a service charge and applicable government tax.
Guests can join a traditional lion dance ceremony to bring good luck, prosperity and happiness on Monday, 8 February 2016 at 10.30 a.m. at the main entrance of the Shangri-La Wing.
