Bangkok--19 Feb--Image Impact
Subhashok The Arts Centre (SAC) will organize a solo exhibition for Niam Mawornkanong's new "Loser Cat" collection from February 27 – March 27, 2016. Niam's paintings are potent and even more remarkable as the artist is medically claimed as 'colorblind'. His life-like collection is an eloquent by-product from the struggle and courage of the artist, who never succumbs or gets disheartened from any challenges that he faces in his own life's journey.
"Loser Cat" (or "Meow Huay") is the name that Niam ironically and lovingly calls his pet as she is useless in catching mice. Niam has always had a cat as a pet since childhood, and it is through the observations and close relationship with the little fragile creature that has inspired him to create his "Loser Cat" works of art. The warmth and encouragement that exudes from his paintings may change the meaning of 'loser' forever.
Cat and art lovers are invited to meet the artist at the exhibition's Opening Party at Subhashok The Arts Centre on Saturday, February 27, 2016 from 6:00 p.m.
Subhashok The Arts Centre is located at 160/3 Sukhumvit Soi 39, and is open Tuesdays - Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., and on Sundays from Noon – 6:00 p.m. For further details, please contact Khun Suchada Tel: +66 (0) 2258 5580 Ext. 401 or E-mail:
