Charity begins at home with lalamove as Bangkok drivers help children in need, volunteering time and donating goods.
Hong Kong based logistics app provider, lalamove is driving a charitable initiative to support street kids in Bangkok. Over 50 lalamove drivers in Bangkok recently visited the Baan Nokkamin Foundation in the Klong-Klum area of the city, treating children to ice cream, playing games and taking part in fun activities. lalamove also donated Baht 30,000 worth of goods, mainly foods and toiletries, which were handed out during the day.
lalamove Thailand driver Sutep Nainrod was part of the CSR day at the foundation. "It is so important to be able to give back to the community. Seeing children smiling and enjoying themselves was rewarding to everyone who helped out on the day. We are also happy to be part of a big company that cares about real people and their lives."
The Baan Nokkamin Foundation was established in 1989 by Swiss missionary, Erwin Groebli, to provide care for homeless youngsters in Ramkhamhaeng. The charity helps orphaned children, those living on the streets, as well as underprivileged kids through self-development and emotional support; empowering young people with the life tools and inner strength to face challenges ahead and to attain future success.
lalamove firmly believes in supporting local communities, as Santit Jirawongkraisorn, Co-Founder and Managing Director of lalamove Thailand explains. "We are here to not only be part of the community but to also do our part in terms of community action. Each year we select an organization to focus our CSR efforts. This is also part of our corporate community. This year's initiative was led by our drivers and other lalamove employees and really resonates with them. Our mission is to give those in need hands-on help, not simply donate cash to a cause."
