Epson, the printing-technology leader, rocks textile and signage printing industry with a big discount on its ink. The move is designed for the firm to take additional market share from third-party printers.
Mr. Yunyong Muneemongkoltorn, General Manager of Epson (Thailand) Co., Ltd., reveals that Epson has now offered a big promotion to boost its market share in Southeast Asia's textile and signage printing industry. Via this promotion, original Dye Sublimation ink for SureColor F-Series' textile printers becomes 55 per cent cheaper while the one for SureColor S-Series' signage printers is 70 per cent cheaper. Epson, moreover, has launched many new products into the market so as to present a greater variety of alternatives to entrepreneurs. For the Thai market, Epson is now urgently expanding its network of distributors as it aims to tap further into textile and signage industry and reach out to customers outside Bangkok too.
"Our promotion is a pro-active move to steal third-party printers' market share. At present, third-party or no-name printers are widely used in the region because not many printer brands have actively conducted marketing activities here. Moreover, many entrepreneurs in the textile and signage industry have opt for no-name printers and ink in the hope of saving cost. But such choices have exposed them to many printer and printing problems. Printing quality is not up to standard. There is no warranty provided by manufacturers either. Epson has decided to reduce its ink price this time for the goal of attracting these entrepreneurs to Epson's printers and ink. Epson, after all, can in fact help them lower cost, increase quality and expand scope of business. When backed by Epson products, they can focus on quality printing and made-to-order printing jobs. They can also get direct support services from Epson. Today, Epson is the only printer brand that has offered two-year warranty for print heads and printer engine".
"In the Thai market, there are still plenty of gaps in the textile and signage industry. Thailand, just like many other countries, finds that no-name printers have continued to hold sizeable market share. Anyway, there are good signs coming in the Thai market. Several entrepreneurs have started investing in digital Dye Sublimation printers for the delivery of made-to-order and quality prints. With such printers, they don't have to engage in just the mass production of analogue printers. During the first quarter of 2016, Epson thus will not only highlight the big ink discount to attract customers' attention but it will also increase its number of distributors. We aim to tap further into the industry and focus on stretching our coverage to more provincial markets. In addition, we launch new products into the market so as to provide customers with the greater variety of alternatives," Mr. Yunyong continues.
Launched alongside the big ink discount are the new SureColor S-Series 64-inch printers S40670, S60670 and S80670. They are designed for printing photographic quality images for the signage and gift, vehicle graphics and fine art reproduction markets.
SureColor S40670, S60670 and S80670 boast upgraded printing efficiency. Precision Dot technology minimizes banding, even at the fastest of production print speeds, just as their automatic media alignment and setup allow faster switching between media types. Automatic print head cleaning is in place, with air circulation system keeping the print head cleaner for extended performance in high production environments. Equipped with additional functions, all these new printer models are well ready to fulfill designers' imagination. Durability is one of their selling points too. The printer body is strong, with print-head damage risk minimized. The S80670 printer, in particular, comes with dual PrecisionCore Thin Film Piezo print heads for double the speed. Such great print heads operate at lower temperature than thermal inkjet print head too.
All these three new printer models work with fast-drying Ultrachrome GS3 Solvent Ink, which delivers outstanding vibrancy, durability and compatibility with interiors and exteriors. Because the ink is eco-solvent, it is friendly to the environment. It is odorless and free from harmful nickel.
