Bangkok--16 Mar--AIS
Mr. Somchai Lertsutiwong, CEO of Advanced Info Services Plc. Or AIS stated that "from the final directive of the NBTC which awarded the License of Lot 2 of 900MHz to True Move H on 14 March 2016, resulting in the complete disruption, starting from 15 March 2016, of 2G service on 900MHz to around 400,000 customers; including the fact that another 7.6 million AWN customers who still use 2G along with 200,000 numbers who are with TOT will not be able to use any service on 900MHz"
"since both AIS and NTC Board, have come to a different conclusion and approach to find ways to take care of such remaining group of customers by ensuring service continuity, AIS was then compelled to file a case to the Central Administrative Court, seeking the consideration for temporary injunction to the customers to have service continuity – allowing them to have more time to migrate to any operator they wish to go or to change their handsets to more advance technology of 3G/4G.
"And latest, the Central Administrative Court's verdict reveals that the remedy shall be extended for another 30 days (until 14 April 2016) resulting in the service continuity of such group of customers for such period of time. AIS strongly affirm the intention to continuingly do whatever it takes to ensure service continuity of the customers." Mr. Somchai reemphasized.
