T.S.Family Group by Mulsap family, the owner of Real Estate and restaurant business, invested 1,000 million Baht to open 100% leading Halal hotel in Thailand to capture the increasing Muslim market opportunities. It is Thailand's 1st leading Halal and admitted to 'The leading Halal Hotel' by Gulf Halal organization from Dubai, thereby assuring a constant and Halal exacting standards of high quality for visitors. The hotel aimed to reach the high-end Muslim markets and Non-Muslim in Asia, Middle East and Europe, and targeting its occupancy 70% this year. The hotel planned to break even within 10 years and expected this year performance to reach 198 million Baht.
Mr.Rausak Mulsap, President and CEO of Al Meroz Hotel said 'the Muslim population stands as the second-largest population and the fastest increasing religion globally. Presently there are around 1.6 billion Muslims in the world, roughly 23% of the global population. It is projected to increasingly a bigger number to 2.2 billion Muslims by 2030, which reach 26.4% of the global population. This growth also claims a large share of the world's consumer spending. Furthermore, there isn't any Halal friendly hotel to cater Muslim travelers in Thailand. So we do not want to miss out on a huge opportunity in the Halal tourism market.
The 1000-million-Baht hotel, comprises of 242 spacious and comfortable rooms from superior, deluxe to suites. There are 3 restaurants which are all-day dining Diwan, speciality Mediterranean Barakat and Papyrus. Other facilities include meeting and banquet with a capacity of 500- 1,200 guests, large open-air swimming pool, gymnasium, prayer rooms and etc. Over 60% of hotel staff is Muslim, whom led by Sanya Saengboon, Managing Director & General Manager of the hotel. The hotel expects to break even within 10 years operation.'
Mr.Sanya Saengboon, Managing Director and General Manager of Al Meroz Hotel said 'the hotel has started its soft-opening late November last year, with currently occupancy 65%, which 50% from Europe and 50% Asia guests including high-end Muslim guests with estimated spending of 10,000 Baht per day. The hotel allocates 50 million Baht for marketing budget this year, aiming to promote Halal hotel concept both domestic and international markets. At the moment there is none competitor in 100% Halal hotel in Thailand. For marketing strategy, we are now working closely with the Tourism Authority of Thailand and other tourism authorities to promote Thailand as a competitive destination for leading Halal hotel concept. Our target group is Muslim and non-Muslim guests in Asia – Indonesia and Malaysia; in the Middle East and Europe – France, Germany and England.'
