Passengers flying to Hue City with Vietjet will experience the thrills, romance and spectacle of hot air balloon flight, offered free to Vietjet customers on May 4 and 5 during the magical Hue Festival celebrations. Vietjet's 25-meter-high hot air balloon flies to a maximum altitude of 150 meters, offering demonstration flights and serving visitors with panoramic views above the city of Hue. The Hue Festival, a six-day program of fireworks, cultural shows and visitor attractions, is celebrated every two years and honors the cultural heritage of Hue City, the former capital city of Vietnam.
Passengers need only bring their Vietjet boarding pass to experience this lighter-than-air flight demonstration on the 4th and 5th of May at Ham Nghi field, Hue City. The organizer will prioritize flights for early comers due to limited flight time/availability. Passengers can take high altitude photos, participate in hot-air balloon-themed activities and meet with Vietjet balloon pilots.
Vietjet's hot-air balloon itself is the only representative of Vietnam to participate in the International hot-air balloon demonstration in 2016, with participation from eight other countries: Britain, the Netherlands, India, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Malaysia and the Philippines. Vietjet's balloon will also represent Vietnam in demonstrations at other countries: Taiwan (July, 2016), Japan (September and October, 2016), Malaysia (March, 2017), Philippines (April, 2017), and Thailand (April, 2017).
