EXIM Thailand Finances Expansion of Water Supply Production in Luangprabang of Lao PDR

Bangkok--11 May--Finance General Information Group EXIM Thailand provided an additional loan amount of 8 million baht, making up a total loan amount of 78 million baht to Asia Nampapa Luangprabang Co., Ltd. to support its expansion of water supply facilities to serve household and industrial consumption in Luangprabang province of Lao PDR. Mr. Kematat Saicheur, Acting President of Export-Import Bank of Thailand (EXIM Thailand), witnessed a signing ceremony of additional long-term loan agreement worth 8 million baht between Mrs. Wanpen Unchundacha, Senior Vice President of EXIM Thailand's International Project Department, and Mr. Pira Intaratood, Managing Director of Asia Nampapa Luangprabang Co., Ltd. (ANL), a joint venture between two Thai investors, namely Asia Infrastructure Management (Thailand) Ltd. and Water Solution Co., Ltd., to finance ANL's expansion of water production capacity at its water supply facilities in Luangprabang province of Lao PDR from 6,000 cubic meters per day at present to 12,000 cubic meters per day. The signing ceremony was held at EXIM Thailand's Head Office on May 11, 2016. EXIM Thailand's Acting President said Asia Nampapa Luangprabang is the Bank's existing customer to whom the Bank provided a start-up loan of 70 million baht to finance its construction of water supply facilities in Luangprabang province, which started commercial operation in December 2013. The objective of this additional loan of 8 million baht, which makes up a total loan amount of 78 million baht to the company, is to support ANL's capacity expansion to cope with the consistently rising trend of tap water demand for daily consumption and industrial uses in line with business and economic growth prospects of Luangprabang province. "This loan facility for Asia Nampapa Luangprabang represents another role of the Bank in supporting and encouraging Thai SMEs with high potential to leverage their infrastructure development expertise and experience for establishing investments overseas which would bring foreign exchange earnings to Thailand alongside promotion of economic and social advancement of the ASEAN Economic Community, of which Thailand and neighboring countries are members," added Mr. Kematat.
