Mr. Manas Jamveha, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Export-Import Bank of Thailand (EXIM Thailand), revealed that EXIM Thailand's Board of Directors has completed the selection process for EXIM Thailand president in accordance with guidelines of the Ministry of Finance and the Bank of Thailand. EXIM Thailand's Board of Directors has appointed Mr. Pisit Serewiwattana as EXIM Thailand's new President with the Minister of Finance's consent as required by the EXIM Thailand Act B.E. 2536 (1993). In serving his four-year tenure as the fifth President of EXIM Thailand since its establishment in 1994, Mr. Pisit will assume office from June 1, 2016.
EXIM Thailand's Chairman said that Mr. Pisit's experience and credentials will serve EXIM Thailand well, thanks to his intensive work experience in the fields of finance and banking including financial institution restructuring. He has a clear vision and strong potential to promote the Bank's stability as well as its proactive roles in line with the government's policy. He will also continue to foster collaboration with related public and private agencies to enhance Thai entrepreneurs' competitiveness in the international trade and investment arena.
Mr. Pisit received his M.A. in Management and Human Relation from Abilene Christian University, U.S.A., and B.A. in Economics from Thammasat University. Formerly, he served as Senior Executive Vice President (Investment and Financial Management Group) of Government Savings Bank, Managing Director of CIMB-Principal Asset Management Company Limited, Assistant Managing Director of CIMB Thai Bank Public Company Limited, Director of Treasury Department and BIBF of Credit Agricole Indosuez Bank and Foreign Exchange Trading Manager of the Chase Manhattan Bank (JPMorgan Chase).
