Japan Airlines led by Mr. Hitoshi Morimoto (left), Regional Manager for Thailand, Indochina and South Asian Subcontinent presented the money to Mr. Reiji Ueda (centre), Fundraising Advisor of Education for Development Foundation (EDF Foundation) to support scholarships for needy students in Thailand.
The money is from a 4th year JAL Mileage Bank Charity Golf tournament, which has been organised for 4 consecutive years.
Established in 1987 and registered as a charitable organisation No. 255 under the laws of Thailand, the EDF Foundation has provided more than 344,226 scholarships to students in 55 provinces around Thailand.
For its commitment to help the less fortunate children especially on education in Thailand this has helped the foundation be granted several awards, including Thai Morality Award from the Association of the Union of the Disabled of Thailand in 2014, The Golden Kalapapruek Award from Khon Kaen University in recognition of the foundation's continuous development of scholarship programmes and educational development projects in 2013, and Thailand NGO Awards 2012 for large organisation category organised by the Rockefeller Foundation, Kenan Institute Asia and the Resource Alliance in 2012 and more.
