Bangkok--6 Jun--ONYX Hospitality Group
ONYX Hospitality Group continues to support the Hospitality & Catering Training Center (HCTC) with a student sponsorship worth 100,000 THB being offered by ONYX Hospitality Group Foundation. Amari Hua Hin was a key fundraiser for the grant through various fundraising activities which formed part of its CSR programme, Baht for a Better Life. The sponsorship helps support underpriviledged young Thai adults of Karen heritage by putting them through hospitality training, providing general education and equipping them with relevant skills to meet the current and future needs of the growing hospitality industry in Thailand.
In 2015, ONYX Hospitality Group Foundation donated a 100,000 THB scholarship grant under Amari's Baht for a Better Life initiative, to support two HCTC students in the first year (June 2015 to May 2016). This year, ONYX continues supporting the two students who previously received the grant to complete the two-year course at HCTC. The students have also undergone an internship at ONYX's properties.
Baht for a Better Life is Amari's education and skill development-focused CSR programme that supports by providing learning opportunities for underprivileged young Thais, particularly those in poor areas of Bangkok and parts of Thailand's rural areas.
Located at Mae Sot in northwestern Thailand, HCTC was established through a cooperation between two non-governmental organisations – Institut Europeen de Cooperation et de Developpement (IECD) in France and Tak Border Child Assistance Foundation (TBCAF).
