Its flagship product, Decolgen is market leader of the OTC cold remedy segment in Thailand with a 60% market share. GED is also among the first companies to introduce cough remedy in the form of capsule, Solmax, which now the market leader in its segment as well.
"While our business continues to provide value to consumers any day, every day, we always look for ways to give back to the society and the community in our capacity," said Rhett V. Hemedes, OTC Marketing Director, GED. "One of our key CSR initiatives is to bring medicines to people who have unmet healthcare needs, in challenging situations or in remote areas." Medicine donation program is a fundamental part of GED's s endeavor to help save lives and improve the quality of life of people. Each year we donate medicine to several nonprofit organizations with healthcare missions including The Thai Red Cross Society, Border Patrol Police, The Phrabatnampu and Dhammarak Foundation, etc.
GED's key consideration for medicine donation is to ensure that the right medicines reach people in need at the right time. With the change of season in the month of May as Thailand is approaching rainy season coming with different illnesses like common and influenza. High chances of recurring cold and cough among Thai people nationwide during rainy season result in hiking demand of cold and cough medicines. The recent GED medicine donation to The Princess Mother's Medical Volunteer Foundation (PMMV) was aimed at supporting ongoing humanitarian aid for needy people with limited access to health services. The donation includes Decolgen cold remedy, Solmax cough remedy, Kremil acid reflux remedy, which were for use in the foundation's mobile medical services on its duty in rural remote areas.
