Thai Gypsum Products Public Company Limited, the manufacturer of leading gypsum innovations under the brand "Gyproc" and part of Saint-Gobain Group, the world's largest building products manufacturer, participated in The 10th Saint-Gobain Gypsum International Trophy. Gyproc nominated three projects from Thailand, including The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), Bed by Cruise Hotel at Samakkhi-Tivanont and Prince Mahidol Hall, selected from Thailand's inaugural Saint-Gobain Gyproc National Trophy entries.
Thai Gypsum's three standout projects represented Thailand by competing in the final round among 89 nominated projects from 35 countries around the world at The 10th Saint-Gobain Gypsum International Trophy campaign, one of the largest international competitions for the construction industry, held in Prague (Czech Republic) during 3-5 June 2016. The International Jury was comprised of a mix of core experts and country delegates, and the competition featured projects submitted across several awards categories.
Richard Juggery, Managing Director, Thai Gypsum Products Public Company Limited, said, "On behalf of Gyproc, Thailand's premier manufacturer of quality gypsum boards and plasters, I would like to express my appreciation and admiration for our three competitors from Thailand. The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), Bed by Cruise Hotel at Samakkhi-Tivanont and Prince Mahidol Hall were all selected from Thailand's inaugural Saint-Gobain Gyproc National Trophy to compete on a global level, and they have made us very proud. The international event unites a global industry and showcases innovation, sustainability and the exceptional results that can be achieved through using Gyproc products and solutions."
Prior to the international awards event, the jury panel met to receive the project presentations, and voted for each project according to pre-defined criteria. To ensure fairness and continuity, all projects in the same category were viewed in the same session.
Ahead of the gala dinner awards announcement, guests had an opportunity to view all 89 competing projects from the 35 participating countries. The three project owners from Thailand traveled to Prague and received positive feedback on their exceptional designs and well-integrated solutions. The competitors enjoyed a chance to learn from the experience and design ideas from projects all over the world, tied together by their use of Saint-Gobain gypsum products. All of these projects demonstrate the beautiful, sustainable, usable and cost–effective spaces and finished solutions that can be created through the use of Gyproc's industry-leading range of products.
The 10th Saint-Gobain Gypsum International Trophy is a unique construction industry event, and one of the largest international competitions of its kind, created in 1998 to recognize and reward the craftsmanship of drywall and plastering contractors. The trophy aims to promote world class skills in drywall technology and plastering, and to encourage and reward contractors for their contribution to innovation in the industry.
The International Trophy campaign is organized by Saint-Gobain Gypsum subsidiaries over a two year period, starting with regional and national events, and culminating in an international competition. This year the international event is hosted by Saint-Gobain Rigips Czech Republic.
