KBank is ready to offer PromptPay Service with advance registration on July 1

Bangkok--28 Jun--KASIKORNBANK With over 12.5 million customers, KASIKORNBANK stands ready to offer "PromptPay" – an easy funds transfer service – that will perform secure, cost-saving and convenient transactions using only one's national ID or mobile phone number, which is linked to their bank account, thus reducing risks associated with cash handling. Advance registration can be made starting July 1, ahead of the scheduled July 15 opening date, via mobile banking, internet banking and at branches. According to Ms. Noppawan Jermhansa, KBank Executive Vice President, KBank has developed the PromptPay service with a focus on the highest security standards to serve its 12.5 million retail customers and will open advance registration starting July 1. To register, customers using K-Mobile Banking PLUS and K-Cyber Banking can choose PromptPay from the app menu and specify their bank account and national ID, or their mobile phone number to be linked to the service. Registration can also be undertaken at any of the over 1,100 KBank branches nationwide using only KBank account passbook, national ID card and mobile phone. Beginning July 9, KBank will also offer advance registration via their 9,000+ ATMs. The above channels will be officially opened for PromptPay registration starting July 15 without deadline. Well-equipped with many access media formats and its K-Contact Center, Tel. 02-888-8888, KBank is ready for customer registration and associated services, including the preparation of data inputs for PromptPay service, benefits, registration advice and information on future service utilization. Moreover, support and other problem-solving services are available to ensure PromptPay users of KBank's excellent service. To register for KBank PromptPay service, customers must choose a savings or current account – only one that has a single owner – for money transfers; this will be linked to their national ID and/or mobile phone number. Only one account is allowed to link with up to four identifying indices – i.e., one national ID number and up to three mobile phone numbers –which have never been linked with any other account. Fees incurred on PromptPay transactions will be based on transfer limits; cross-district or interbank transfer fees shall not be applicable. Transfers up to 5,000 Baht/transaction will be exempt from any fees; 5,000-30,000 Baht will be charged up to 2 Baht/transaction, and up to 5 Baht/transaction will be due for over 30,000 Baht, but not exceeding 100,000 Baht. For transfers of over 100,000 Baht, customers will be charged a maximum of 10 Baht. The maximum transfer limit will be set by KBank. PromptPay will be another good choice for personal money transfers, while other typical payment methods will be an option for registered PromptPay customers. This new service will be available beginning October 2016. KBank's PromptPay accounts will be an eligible channel in the future for receipt of government payments, e.g., benefits, pensions to the elderly, financial subsidies for newborns and personal income tax refunds via direct transfer to customers' registered account without additional account procedures or cheque deposits.
