Inaugural Autodesk University ASEAN Event

Bangkok--15 Jul--TQPR The Autodesk University (AU) ASEAN event was held successfully for the first time in Thailand, welcoming nearly 800 architecture, engineering, manufacturing and entertainment industry professionals from 11 countries at Centara Grand & Bangkok Convention Centre. Guest of Honor, Dr. Pichet Durongkaveroj, Minister of Science and Technology, highlighted the recent Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the National Science and Technology Development Association's (NSTDA) and Autodesk to jointly establish a "Digital Manufacturing Platform." This collaboration aims to supports the National Digital Economy Master Plan, and provide up to 100,000 engineers and vocational professionals subscription-based access to Autodesk's technology, services and training for three years. Autodesk, the leader in 3D design software, held the event to place a spotlight on disruptive trends and advanced technologies shaping the "The Future of Making Things". (BMERU) NSTDA; and Mr. Sarat Nisaratana, Head of Advanced R&D, Ananda Development Plc. Held concurrently at the event was the dedicated media roundtable, which was aimed at educating the media on the disruptive trends shaping the future of how things are designed and made in architecture, engineering and construction (AEC), manufacturing (MFG) and media and entertainment (M&E). This created greater awareness of technology's role in driving the competitiveness of Thailand's AEC, MFG and M&E industries.
