THAI Supports Thai-American Midwest Youths’ Visit to Thailand

Bangkok--10 Aug--Thai Airways Mr. Charamporn Jotikasthira (back row, second from right), President, Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI), recently chaired the presentation of certificates to Thai-American Youths from the Midwest States of the United States of America who completed a Thai classical music and dance camp, which is part of the First Thai-American Midwest Youths' Visit to Thailand project. Also present was Mr. Songpol Sukhchan (back row, third from right), Director-General of Europe Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as sponsor representative, Professor Achavee Thamvasi (back row, first from right), Professor of Performing Arts and Dance, Triton University, River Grove, Illinois, USA, as project coordinator, and Mrs. Petchpring Sarasin (back row, fifth from right), THAI Vice President, Corporate Image and Communications Department, a guest speaker on Thai manners who welcomed the group at THAI's Head Office. The First Thai-American Midwest Youths' Visit to Thailand project was initiated from cooperation between the Thai-American for the Future (TAFF) Association, the Thai Cultural Center of Chicago, and Wat Thammaram, with additional sponsorship from the Thai Consulate in Chicago under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the purpose of allowing 30 American-born Thai children of the ages of 3-18 years the opportunity to participate in an educational tourism program and instill a connection to Thai society, whereby the program was held during 11-24 July 2016. THAI provided sponsorship through volunteer staff, Thai musical instruments from the Thai Classical Music and Performing Arts Club run by THAI employees, and use of the auditorium.
