Bangkok--11 Aug--Bangkok Bank
Bangkok Bank has begun providing 500-baht commemorative banknotes on the auspicious occasion of the seventh-cycle birthday of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit on 12 August 2016. It costs 500-baht for each 500-baht commemorative banknote. People have been flocking to Bangkok Bank branches nationwide and 1,725 ATMs located in front of the bank's branches nationwide to get the commemorative banknotes. The notes can be obtained by making withdrawals of Baht 500. Signage will be placed on each ATM to show it contains the commemorative banknotes and will be removed once the ATM runs out of the banknotes. Each ATM will have between 1,000 and 2,000 banknotes (Baht 500,000 – 1,000,000 million). This will be the first time the bank has distributed commemorative banknotes through its ATMs, in addition to its nationwide bank branches. The bank has been allocated a quota of banknotes by the Bank of Thailand to ensure broad distribution.
