Impact Solar also offers to customers a unique package that requires zero investment cost and Kerry Siam Seaport Co., Ltd., or KSSP, is the first client under this scheme. Commercial organizations interested in Impact Solar's solar rooftop operation can opt for either 1. Solar PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) or 2. Solar Sale schemes. For Solar PPA, there is no initial investment cost required and only the actual amount of electricity consumed is paid. More importantly, Impact Solar guarantees a discount tariff rate of electricity for the entire project period, Mr Somboon said. He added that the ownership of the solar rooftop system will be transferred to the customers at the end of the project period for smooth continued use of the energy. Alternatively, customers can also request to purchase the system after the first year of operation. Regarding to Solar Sale option, customers make the investment for the ownership of the system while Impact Solar offers them turnkey solutions and full services including design and installation, insurance, application for permit and helping the customer to get financial support from local financial institutions, Mr Somboon said. Operation and maintenance services is provided free of charge for 2 years under this package, he added. Business operations invest in solar rooftop installation also receive tax privileges under the Board of Investment's criteria. "Looking at an example case of a 500 kW installation capacity, the Solar PPA scheme will help business operators save up to around THB12-15 million along the project period. As for the Solar Sale package, the operators can save even more at an average of THB 5 million a year or THB125 million for the entirety of the project. The more capacity installation means the more saving on the bills," Mr. Somboon comments. The assumption is based on the current government tariff and estimated escalation of electricity rate, he added. According to Mr Somboon, interested industrial manufacturers and operators can find out roughly how much electricity expense and the CO2 emission they can save by calculating via a user-friendly and easy application onwww.impactsolar.co.th. They are required to identify few key data such as the monthly electricity bill, the daily operating hour and the roof area for receiving the result that shows average annual saving and the 25-year saving on electricity bills, CO2saving in ton per year, recommended installation capacity as well as upfront cost and annual operation and maintenance cost, in case of Solar Sale scheme. "By operating our solar rooftop business we fully support the Ministry of Energy's policy on solar rooftop project. Organizations that are interested to participate in the government's solar rooftop plan can come to us for consultation and so on," Mr Somboon said. Impact Solar has secured its first customer when it signed the first Private Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) or Solar PPAcontract in February this year with Kerry Siam Seaport Limited (KSSP), a subsidiary of Kerry Logistics Network, providing ANYWHERE GMR (Greater Mekong Region) logistics solution including Terminals, Warehouses, and Multimodal Transportation services. Recently, Impact Solar has executed a Solar PPA with JAS Asset PCL, who is a leading property developer. A total of 1,000 kW solar rooftop system will be installed on both KSSP warehouse located in Sri Racha, Chonburi and JAS Urban Srinakarin, an upcoming shopping mall in Srinakarin, Bangkok. Impact Solar will provide the customer with clean solar energy at discounted tariff rate throughout the PPA lifetime of 25 years. "We are talking with several industrial manufacturers as potential customers and we believe that they are seeing the essential of energy saving while considering the importance of clean energy for their sustainable growth," Mr Somboon concluded. IES has more than 8 years of international experiences in solar development in Thailand and Japan with renowned technology partners. This professional collaboration can confirm that IES has always developed the projects with high standards. "We believe that solar rooftop has currently reached the new level of being competitive to the government's electricity tariff. However, some customers are concerned about some technical and maintenance issues or investment risk. Our Solar PPAwill solve this all. Furthermore, our professional technology partner will be in charge of the whole process from installation to maintenance. Many leading international and local banks are also ready to lend financial support to the project," added Mr Somboon.
